Expert Witness Services for
First-Party Property Claims

I provide expert witness services in first-party property insurance disputes involving scope, valuation, claim handling practices, and policy application. My opinions are based on the facts of the loss, the policy language, and accepted industry standards and practices. I approach each matter with a documentation-driven methodology, and I am prepared to explain how the record supports my conclusions.

Independence is central to my work as an expert. When retained, my duty is to provide objective, well-supported opinions, not to advocate for a particular outcome. I apply the same analytical approach regardless of which side retains me, and I welcome scrutiny of my work because my findings are tied to documentation, measurements, pricing support, and policy provisions.

I have over two decades of first-party property claims experience across residential, commercial, and catastrophe losses, including senior roles with national carriers and independent adjusting firms managing complex, high-severity claims. I have supported litigation matters through deposition and mediation support and expert reporting. I am also a certified appraiser and umpire, providing independent evaluation services in disputed losses. I hold the CPCU, AIC, and SPPA designations, reflecting advanced training in property insurance, ethical claims handling, and complex coverage analysis.

Meet Your Public Adjuster Christopher L. Friedley

When you choose to work with a Public Adjuster, you are choosing to spend the next 3, 6, or even 12 months with that professional on your insurance claim. You deserve someone you can trust, who will take a comprehensive look at your loss and your policy, document your claim completely, and defend your interests with the insurance company.  You need someone who understands your needs and will communicate clearly and often with you on the status of your claim and what's coming next.

My mission is to be that kind of public adjuster for business owners and families in Mississippi and Louisiana, because I understand first-hand what it's like to be on the other side.

That's because when Hurricane Katrina struck Mississippi in 2005, like many in our community, I experienced firsthand the devastation along the Gulf Coast. I spent nine hours clinging to a live oak tree in Biloxi after my in-laws’ home was swept away in the storm surge. In the aftermath, I watched my family navigate a technically complex insurance claim involving wind versus water damage, and I saw how detailed documentation and policy interpretation–or its absence–can significantly affect the outcome of a loss.

Case Support I Provide as an Expert Witness

I assist counsel in first-party property insurance matters by providing detailed analysis, objective opinions, and clear testimony. My expert witness services include:

  • Policy Analysis and Application: I review relevant policy provisions in the context of the claim file and loss documentation, and I explain how those provisions are typically evaluated in property claims practice.
  • Damage Evaluation: I inspect and document the loss, prepare damage estimates, and provide professional opinions on scope, valuation, and whether the carrier’s assessment reflects the documented damage.
  • Insight into Industry Practices: With nearly two decades of carrier-side claims experience, I explain standard claims practices and where the claim handling deviated from accepted procedures, based on the file and documentation.
  • Testimony That Resonates: I explain my findings clearly and professionally in depositions, mediations, and court, so decision-makers understand the claim issues and supporting documentation.

Let’s Build a Clear, Well-Supported Record.
